Alvarado Caverns and Mystery Theater

I initially joined L.A.'s Machine Project as an exhibition designer and to teach courses on exhibition design and multimedia engineering. In 2013, I had the privilege of transitioning into an artist-in-residence role, designing and building the Alvarado Caverns and Mystery Theater. This project turned the Echo Park storefront arts space into a multi-dimensional venue for performance artists and events, augmented with magical theatrical effects.

 

Collaborating closely with Machine Project's community of talented artists, we also curated and printed a number unique and engaging event posters, which was a highlight for me due to my background in typography, graphic design, and traditional letterpress.
